Salma Hayek accepted a challenge to eat frogs and worms during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live Wednesday night.
Ace Showbiz reports that Hayek wasn’t afraid to try out the exotic food after WWHL host Andy Cohen offered the challenge up to the 48-year-old actress. Shockingly enough, Hayek enjoyed the off-the-wall food!
Cohen noticed a video that Salma Hayek had posted onto her Instagram that showed herself eating a cricket. Obviously, he thought she might be willing to try something else, so he created a little game called, “Will Salma Eat It?” What Hayek had to do was open a variety of boxes that had mystery foods inside them and decide whether she’d eat them or not.
A deep-fried frog was in the first box. The actress said: “I eat this all the time. It’s very famous in France.”
Following that, Salma munched on a jalapeno. Later on, she agreed to consume some fried silk worms.
“I’ll eat that. These are Mexican,” the actress said.
Gefilte fish was in the second box — known to be a Jewish delicacy. Hayek wasn’t familiar with the food, but learned that it’s a bit like “Spam for Jews,” Andy explained.
Hayek wasn’t too keen on eating that.
“This is where I draw the line,” she said while taking a small taste of the so-called delicacy, then adding, “I’ll stick with the worms.”
A can of spray cheese was in the third box, which Hayek sprayed in her mouth. By the end of the game, Hayek said she would avoid onions.
Just a few weeks ago, Huffington Post reported that Salma Hayek gave an interview confessing that Hollywood “ doesn’t want ” her anymore, but she “doesn’t care.” The Inquisitr wrote about the interview , in which she said that getting older isn’t as bad as she thought it would be.
“You don’t look as bad as you thought you were going to look. You don’t feel as old as you thought you were going to feel. It’s a myth. Forties are full of life. The only thing that is tough about the 40s is when you haven’t had a child. This is awful.”
Salma Hayek keeps busy with her humanitarian work and has other projects. The actress produced and is the voice of a character in the animated film adaptation of a book of prose poetry called “The Prophet” — written in 1923 by Lebanese writer Kahlil Gibran. The Oscar-nominated actress says that her 7-year-old daughter, Valentina Pinault, gave her passion for the project.
