WWE News: Real Reason Why Mick Foley Is Taking Time Off From WWE Revealed

Mick Foley has such a unique dynamic with the WWE Universe and still has a complex character on WWE television even a decade after his prime. Before becoming Raw’s General Manager back in July as the draft and brand extension split the WWE roster in two, Foley was a passionate WWE legend who had the ability to have his voice heard through social media, which sometimes got him into hot water with certain people.

After becoming Raw’s General Manager, The Hardcore Legend was given the chance to interact with a new generation of WWE Superstars and fans. He will always have the respect of the WWE Universe, and he had the history of being an authority figure on WWE programming for years. The Raw GM role suited him and brought a familiar face back on WWE TV. Thus far, Foley’s performance has received some mixed reviews.

Mick Foley admitted that there are some “limitations” to being the General Manager of Raw , but he’d do the best job he could to help the WWE product be as strong as possible. The assumption is that he was referring to WWE’s creative decisions. Decisions he doesn’t have control over, but he would give his best performance every week to put over whatever plans the powers that be have for each edition of Monday Night Raw.

Most recently, Foley has been working with Sami Zayn in an attempt to help him build a stronger rapport with the WWE fans. Simultaneously, this storyline will continue to establish Braun Strowman as a monster heel on Raw. If all goes well at WWE Roadblock: End of the Line , both goals should be successful, but this storyline is expected to be the last the WWE Universe will see of Foley on WWE TV for the rest of 2017.

According to a new report, Mick Foley will be taking some time off from WWE programming and may not even appear at WWE Roadblock: End of the Line this Sunday. Foley’s absence wasn’t made on television, so a lot of speculation has been created with this news. Rumors about Foley being suspended or released by the company have been swirling since the news broke, but those are said to be nothing more than fan gossip.

It’s not uncommon for WWE’s authority figures to miss some television time. Stephanie McMahon has been absent on WWE television recently due to other commitments for the company. That left Foley in charge, but his absence has the WWE Universe questioning his status. It’s being reported that he’ll be back on for the first edition of Raw in 2017, but his absence is happening for a specific reason.

Mick Foley’s love of Christmas and being Santa Claus has been well documented over the past few years, so it’s understandable that he’d want to spend this time of the year with his family. Apparently, Raw’s GM will be taking time off from WWE in order to spend the holidays with his family and do some volunteer work as Santa. It’s being said there is no ill will between Foley and WWE officials and it’s just a holiday vacation.

As of this writing, there is no news about who could be temporarily replacing Foley on Raw over the next few weeks. In all likelihood, Stephanie McMahon will handle the responsibilities of the on-screen authority figure herself just as Foley has done over the past few weeks. When he returns to Raw in 2017, WWE will be in full swing heading into the WWE Royal Rumble PPV , so he’ll be plenty busy on WWE programming.
