Jay Z’s 4:44 album went platinum in less than a week after it was released, but apparently rapper 50 Cent was not a huge fan, comparing Beyonce’s husband’s new song to “golf course music.”
Platinum golf course record
Jay Z’s new album 4:44 was a huge hit and went platinum just days after it was released on Tidal, but the music didn’t exactly win over 50 Cent.
The album gained platinum status on Wednesday, July 5, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
As expected, 4:44 also stirred up some drama within the hip hop community. Jay Z admitted to cheating on Beyonce and mentioned his feud with Kanye West, among many other highly publicized issues.
However, 50 Cent likened Jay Z’s 4:44 raps to “golf course music.”
The “Candy Shop” rapper said that he thought the music was “aight,” and he liked it, but if he was going to “keep it 100,” then he’d have to say that he thought the raps were “too smart.”
The rapper said that when listening to 4:44, he felt like he should be “wearing glasses” and tying a sweater around his waist.
“It was like Ivy League s**t.”
“Some of that s**t was like golf course music.”
He added that people didn’t want to “hear that s**t” and just want to have a “good time ” listening to music, according to E! News.

Taking shots at Jay’s age
The rapper then took a shot at Beyonce’s husband’s age saying, “You can’t be the best rapper at 47, because the new n***as is here.”
