Cody Simpson tweets his devastation over the tragic death of one of his most loyal and dedicated fans, 13-year-old Gracie Abbott, whose untimely death was caused by an ATV-related accident.

According to Alabama’s Al.com, Simpson-fan Abbott and two of her cousins were trail riding an all-terrain vehicle when the three of them crashed, causing their vehicle to lose control and flip over. One of the cousins was able to seek rescue, while Gracie, unconscious, was airlifted to Birmingham and was brought to the Children’s of Alabama hospital. At 10:15 pm, Coroner J.C poe pronounced Abbott dead .

Known by friends as a dedicated fan to Cody Simpson, Abbott has been regularly tweeting loving and adoring messages to the Surfboard singer before her passing. The late fan even named her Twitter handle @future_simpson

Shortly after the fan’s death, Simpson tweeted Monday his sadness over the young admirer’s untimely death.

Simpson then described Abbott as an “angel” and promised to pray for the girl and her family.

Cody’s girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, also expressed her feelings over the passing of Abbott, describing the girl as an “angel to watch over other Angels”.

On Instagram, Cody Simpson continued to mourn for her dedicated fan.

Immediately after Cody posted his tweets, #RIPGracie became a trending Twitter topic. Many of Cody’s fans joined the 17-year-old singer in expressing his sadness over the death of Gracie.

On various sites on the internet, people expressed their admiration for Cody’s heartfelt and sincere messages to his fan. Windy Miller on the Daily Mail said:

“Good lad. For once a decent respectable young man setting the right example to the youngsters.”

User @voguexcarpenter on Twitter said:

“this is why I love you”

Cody learned of Gracie’s death shortly after he spent his holiday at the Coachella music festival.

The Aussie singer is especially famous for being extra nice to fans . Many who admire Cody claim that the effort he pours in with interacting with his admirers is incomparable to other artists his age, who tend to grow snobby and aloof from the general public as they get more popular. Others note that Cody’s success in the industry could be partially attributed to his openness to the people who love and care for him, especially to the millions he doesn’t personally know.

Cody Simpson’s latest single, Surfboard has just been released and is gaining massive attention on YouTube, where the music video was posted just last week.
