Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is due to release in November 2011. However, it looks like Infinity Ward – or what remains of Infinity Ward after this fall-out – is struggling to finish the game in time.

The LA Times reports that publisher Activision has called for help from two of its other studios, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. According to the paper’s sources, Sledgehammer and Infinity Ward are sorting out the single-player mode, while Raven is in charge of developing the game’s online functionality.

The LA Times ‘s mole adds that Sledgehammer personnel have had to be taken from a different Call of Duty game, an adventure spin-off. Activision is, for very obvious reasons , desperate to see Modern Warfare 3 out this year – even if that means delaying a side project for the main attraction.
