An Atlanta Braves fan died on Monday night after falling more than 60 feet from an upper-level deck at Atlanta’s Turner Field.

The man fell from the platform and landed in the stadium’s parking lot.

According to Atlanta Police, the man was attending the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies game when the tragedy occurred.

Police spokesman John Chafee notes:

“At this time there’s no indication of foul play and the fall appears accidental. It appears he fell from an upper-level platform to a secured lot below.”

Officers arrived on the scene after receiving a call just before 9 pm. An ambulance transported the man to an Atlanta Medical Center where he passed away from multiple sustained injuries.

Witnesses said the fall was an accident, but police are not releasing any further information at this time.

Police are still not sure if alcohol or wet conditions were involved in the fan’s death. The stadium was hit with heavy rain, which led to a two-hour delay of the game.

The Atlanta Braves have not released a public statement at this time.

The Atlanta Braves fan death involves the third fall to occur in Atlanta over the last year. The other falls involved one man who plummeted from an upper-deck and fell onto another man and another in which a man survived a 25-foot fall from a staircase. This was the first fall at Turner Field.

This is the second tragedy at Turner Field in three short months. The other death involved an MLB TV worker who suffered from a heart attack .
