Taco Bell isn’t the only chain that wants you to spend some money on their tasty selection of breakfast items.
Since it’s reportedly the most important meal of the day, restaurants want to capitalize on your urge to satisfy those cravings in their own unique ways. Now that Taco Bell has stepped into the battlefield, another popular restaurant is revamping its menu.
According to Daily Finance , the folks at Starbucks are hoping to steal a little thunder away from Taco Bell’s recent announcement. If the folks at McDonald’s want to remain the undisputed kings and queens of the breakfast table, then they’ll have to find some new ways to keep their customers from defecting to the competition.
To make sure nobody jumps ship on their end, Starbucks announced earlier this week that they are revamping their breakfast menu. Businessweek reports that the company is offering hungry patrons four brand new sandwiches to curb the beast grumbling in their tummies on the way to work.
The restaurant now has the following items on its menu:
“…ham and swiss on a croissant; spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and cheese on ciabatta; egg and cheddar on toast; and a lower-calorie egg white, bacon, and cheese on English muffin.”
Starbucks spokeswoman Megan Adams explained, “These new offerings are in response to what our customers have been asking for like more variety of breakfast sandwich offerings, such as an option with a croissant, a more veggie-forward, and a lower calorie.”
The Inquisitr previously reported that Taco Bell is hoping to wrestle a significant amount of business from McDonald’s with their own breakfast menu . Although several other restaurants offer items in the morning, the company apparently has its sights set on the world’s most popular fast food chain. Taco Bell will roll out the new offerings nationwide on March 27.
“Breakfast is the fastest growing day part in QSR [quick-service restaurants], and after years of the same old thing, we’re confident our breakfast will wake up customers’ morning routine,” Taco Bell’s Chris Brandt recently explained.
He added, “Taco Bell will bring them a classic breakfast experience, leading with the Waffle Taco and A.M. Crunchwrap, but also offer a menu of breakfast burritos, tacos and value offerings plus a pipeline of new products to continue waking up breakfast options and connecting with our fans.”
Do you think Taco Bell will emerge victorious in the breakfast wars? Will McDonald’s continue to rule the breakfast table in this extremely crowded market?
