The wait is over. The Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos was officially announced today by Taco Bell.
The fast food restaurant, which created a taco frenzy last year with its Doritos Locos Taco, will add the Cool Ranch Doritos Taco to its menu on March 7.
Greg Creed, Taco Bell Corp’s chief executive officer, said that the Cool Ranch taco would have come sooner but there was such a high demand for the original Doritos Locos Taco that Taco Bell decided to hold off for a few months.
Creed said:
“There has been enormous interest in the new Cool Ranch flavor of Doritos Locos Tacos and people are wondering why it took so long … Originally we had planned to launch the Cool Ranch flavor in the same year as the introduction of Doritos Locos Tacos. However, the demand for Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos was so strong that we worked closely with our partner Frito-Lay to increase our capacity and meet the needs of both Doritos Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese fans.”
UPI reports that Taco Bell sold more than 350 million Doritos tacos in 2012.

Do you think Taco Bell’s Cool Ranch Doritos Locos taco will be a bigger hit than the original?
Taco Bell may be grabbing a few flavors from Frito Lay. but the partnership is mutually beneficial. Taco Bell flavored chips will soon be hitting store shelves as well.
