Ever since Disney bought Lucas Arts and announced the making of a seventh installment in the Star Wars Universe, the internet has been in a tizzy on what it will be like. Here on The Inquisitr , we reported numerous times on the upcoming movie including the casting of Lupita Nyong’o And Gwendoline Christie, Harrison Ford and his leg injury , and Tom Cruise possibly having a cameo appearance . Now the newest rumor is that Carrie Fisher’s daughter may have a role in the upcoming movie too. Not only does this movie have the old cast reuniting, but their kids are joining in the fun.
According to a report by Latino Review , Billie Lourd is in Star Wars: Episode VII . For those who are unfamiliar with the actress, she is the daughter of Carrie Fisher, who plays Princess Leia in the original trilogy (Episodes IV to VI) and Bryan Lourd, a managing director and co-chairman of Creative Arts Agency. No word has been given about what her role will be but the article states that it may possibly be a cameo.
As for who Billie Lourd is, she recently just turned 22 and according to IGN , this may be her first film credit. Reason why they say this is because she has no IMDb page or any known film credits. Maybe she was pursuing something that most people her age pursue, like college possibly. As for the film, Star Wars: Episode VII will be the continuation of the series after Star Wars: Episode VI which is titled “Return of the Jedi”. To some, this may also be an attempt to add some credibility back to the Star Wars franchise because many comic book and sci-fi fans were disappointed with the direction that the second trilogy (Episodes I to III) went. Even famous comedian, Patton Oswalt, has made a joke about how he would go back in time to kill George Lucas right before the first three episodes, just so that Lucas wouldn’t make them.
The video of this joke is below. Just take note there is profanity since this is from his first album special, Werewolves & Lollipops .
Nevertheless, the hype for this movie is off the charts, primarily for the inclusion of the original cast… and maybe now that Lucas Arts now has an “unlimited money pit” (that’s Disney) to utilize to make this movie spectacular! Currently, Star Wars: Episode VII is still in production. No release date or info has been given just as of yet.
