Star Wars 8 actor Mark Hamill appeared at the 2016 Salt Lake Comic-Con and talked about his Joker part in Batman: The Killing Joke . He said he hadn’t seen it yet due to scheduling issues as he had an interview coming up that conflicted with such an opportunity, according to a local video by Fox 13 . He also mentioned the issue of having to hold off on doing anything as he was working on Episode VIII .

Hamill is usually careful about spilling the beans and mentions that “anything you do or say leads to speculation.” Such is the beauty of the internet, right? Recently, he spoke of details involving him having to focus on his next Star Wars movie.
“I came home and I realized, ‘oh my gosh, they have an interview for me tomorrow afternoon. I haven’t watched [The Killing Joke], and the day after I start on a sequence, an elaborate special effects sequence where I’m not going to be able to do anything. I have to focus specifically on the Episode VIII scene I’m doing.”
The quote is located at the 25:55 mark on the video.

Mark Hamill also spoke of night shoots and “elaborate special effects.” Speaking of speculations, it looks like the one that comes to mind is the Knights of Ren vision sequence that was spoken of a few months ago, via Making Star Wars .
Keep in mind, the following could be spoilers for Star Wars 8 .
Who Are The Knights Of Ren?
The scene entails a vision of the Knights of Ren that consisted of “seven men in black” and Kylo Ren. They are described as wearing medieval-style black helmets. Kylo Ren had no mask on. The vision involves Hamill’s character Luke Skywalker and Rey, played by Daisy Ridley.
The Knights of Ren and Kylo Ren make their approach. Kylo battles Rey while Luke takes on the seven knights. He takes them all out and Kylo retreats.
In Star Wars: The Force Awakens , he just stood there on the planet Ahch-To and said nothing to Rey. Considering he talked about an “elaborate special effects sequence,” this may indicate a lot of activity for Hamill in Star Wars 8 if he is to take on the Knights of Ren.
Mark Hamill’s Thoughts On The Force Awakens Ending
Considering spoilers and other Episode VIII details weren’t all forthcoming, a question was asked by a fan at the Salt Lake Comic-Con regarding what Hamill’s thoughts were about the “masterful, beautiful 30 seconds” at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens .
Hamill thought it was a great surprise ending and discussed the whole means by which he would come on board the franchise and how he used Harrison Ford as an out from moving forward with the Lucasfilm project.
“When I said I’ll come back and do the movie, it’s going to be all of us or none of us and I wasn’t sure if I should come back because we have a beginning, a middle and the end and it was perfect. It should be about the new generation, but I don’t have to worry because Harrison’s not going to do this. He’s way to rich, and cynical. He stopped caring decades ago.”
Hamill then gave a visual of what being a retiree is like with the metal detector and Bermuda shorts yelling at kids to get off his lawn. To his surprise, when he got the message that Harrison Ford decided to do the movie, Mark was, in a sense, taken out of Star Wars retirement and “drafted.”
“Oh my God, I’ve been drafted! You will report to Pinewood Studios!”
He then lamented graciously about the passion he hears from the fans and the experiences they’ve had with the Star Wars franchise. After all these years Mark is still amazed at the fanfare that has been generated.
