As many of you know after concert footage went viral of Beyonce’s track “Resentment,” rumors ran rampant that this was a confirmation from the singer that Jay Z had an affair, giving a whole new clarity to those cheating allegations
Since then people have come forward to defend the footage of Beyonce’s performance. While many were convinced that Knowles’ changed lyrics was a confirmation that something went down in her marriage with Jay Z, others said the song isn’t any indication, and that she’s been performing a variation of the track in concert for years. Since the news broke we’ve had conflicting reports on an issue that we probably won’t ever know the whole story to unless someone comes forward to speak their mind.
That said we do have a clear and cut statement from singer Mya . So how does Mya come into play in the Jay Z and Beyonce saga? Well, she’s just one of the names that has popped up amid reports that Jay Z cheated on Beyonce. Along with Rihanna and acquaintance Rachel Roy, Mya’s name was also on the list of women Jay Z might have cheated on Beyonce with. While Rihanna and Rachel Roy haven’t come forward to address this issue, Mya wants to make it clear that she was never involved with Jay Z. From the looks of it, the singer has better things to do with her time.
In a message on Instagram Mya slammed rumors that she was ever in a relationship with Jay Z and that he supported her financially. The singer, who collaborated with Jay on the track “Best of Me” said those rumors are nothing more but “false rumors crafted for ratings.” We don’t exactly know what ratings she’s referring to but she does go on to explain herself.
“Never did, never was, never will. Illegitimate thirsty sources with no facts and that’s the “media” for you – especially today. I play second to no one, pay my own bills, have my own label, own management company, rely on God only and respect myself & marriage way too much for nonsense.”
Mya continued:
“False rumors are crafted for ratings & numbers. And miserable, unhappy people need someone to judge to deter the attention away from their own misery and feel better about their miserable lives. If they did it to Jesus, they’ll do it to anyone. God Bless.”
Beyonce and Jay Z haven’t went public with any of this since they released a statement shortly after video footage leaked of Solange Knowles going after Jay Z in an elevator after the Met Gala. It’s unlikely that they will make another statement as that will just fuel the fire.
