Shooters Grill: Gun-Toting Waitresses A Huge Hit In Rifle, Colorado

Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado features waitresses packing guns – and customers love the idea. The restaurant is owned by Lauren and Jayson Boebert. The couple has always supported open carry rights and has readily invited patrons and staff to do the same.

During an interview with The Blaze, Shooters Grill owner Lauren Boebert said that she and her husband did not necessarily start out to open a Second Amendment “haven” but three days after the restaurant opened, that is exactly what happened. Since Lauren has always carried a gun, she naturally continued the practice when working inside her restaurant. Just days after the Rifle, Colorado restaurant opened, other staffers asked if they could carry a gun in the business as well and Boebart said, “of course.” When Colorado waitress Ashlee Saenz takes an order she is packing a pad, pen, and a loaded Ruger.357 Blackhawk handgun holstered on her leg.

Customers soon took notice of the gun-toting waitresses and became fans of the Second Amendment rights supporting restaurant. On her way into the restaurant one morning Lauren noticed a handmade sign which reads, “Guns are Welcome on Premises.” She thought the posting was a great idea and quickly replaced the handwritten sign with a professionally printed version.

The Shooters Grill owner still does not know who placed the gun friendly zone sign on the front door of her restaurant, but feels the individual did her a favor. The permanent gun sign says, “Guns are welcome on premises. Please keep all weapons holstered unless need arises. In such case, judicious marksmanship is appreciated.” Shooters Grill has been serving customers in Rifle for two years and the 55-seat restaurant fills all the tables day after day. Lauren and Jayson currently employ 16 staffers and are looking to hire more and recently posted a job openings note on the restaurant’s Facebook page .

When the couple was deciding upon a name for their restaurant friends cautioned them against using Shooters in the title. Many pals thought it made the grill sound like a strip joint or a bar. The Colorado open carry friendly restaurant is neither. Alcohol is not served on the premises and decorations inside the business denote the Boeberts’ Christian faith. “We called it Shooters and started throwing guns and Jesus all over the place,” Lauren said.

Lauren and Jayson Beobert opened the restaurant as a backup plan and a leap of faith in case Jayson’s oilfields work hit a rough patch. “I give all the glory to God,” Lauren added.

If I ever find myself in Rifle, Colorado, I will surely stop in for lunch and feel very safe while I dine. What do you think about Shooters Grill open carry policy?
