There was shock, horror, and disbelief this week when a woman claiming to be “Satan’s mother” placed baptism ads for her daughter Lucy in the main Swedish newspapers.
Displaying a picture of Lucy, a little girl with a rather serious expression and sporting curls appearing to form the characters “666,” the advert was apparently unnoticed by editors when it was initially placed by the alleged Satan’s mother on Tuesday this week.

Tweet translation: “Satan’s child” – e-mail address was “Satan’s mother “
Many people in Sweden were suspicious that Lucy might, indeed, be named after the infamous “Lucifer,” the name of the devil before his “fall from grace.”
However, it was the email address published at the end of the advert in the Swedish language newspaper Svenska Dagbladet that further fueled suspicion, as the name appears to be the words “Satan’s mother” spelled in reverse , i.e. rehtom.snatas@xxxxxxx (the email domain was blurred in the image later posted on the social media).
The newspaper rather aptly titled their article, “When Satan became a feminist role model.”
Also, where RSVP should have appeared on the invitation to the baptism ceremony, there seems to be a typographical error, as it was spelled RVSP. Some wondered if this is, indeed, was a typo, or that it might possibly mean something far more sinister. However, no one had any idea what that something could possibly be.
The result of the ad was that Satanists might have been happily lured to the event in Elmsta, a small village north of Stockholm, to attend the event. The only thing was, later that day, it was revealed that the ad was not actually what it appeared to be.
The Local cleared up the mystery by reporting that the ad was, in fact, a clever bit of marketing for the Elmsta 3000 Horror Fest , a horror movie festival to be held in the town on that date.
Some Twitter users got a little inventive with their responses to the ad.

Meanwhile, for those with a liking for Satan-related television, the Inquisitr reports that Fox’s new drama series Lucifer will be a drama centered around the Prince of Darkness . However, in the series, Lucifer is definitely male and it is pretty certain Satan’s mother won’t be in a starring role.
