Sharon Osbourne Criticized By Parents Of Missing Children After Her ‘Insane’ Comments

Sharon Osbourne has been verbally attacked by parents of missing children, including parents of Madeleine McCann, according to the Mirror . The former X Factor judge has been blasted by parents of missing kids ever since saying parents are “insane” to leave their children alone .

Sharon Osbourne made those rather harsh claims during her show The Talk , as she criticized the parents of missing Madeleine McCann for leaving their daughter without supervision. In fact, the 63-year-old TV host even shared “a very quick story” about a married couple spending their holiday in Portugal.

It was a clear criticism toward Kate and Gerry McCann when Sharon Osbourne started telling the story. According to the story, these two parents left their baby sleeping in the room while they went out to have dinner at a restaurant.

“While they were in the resort their baby was taken. And it is like, ‘Oh but we can see everything that is going on’ and it is, like, insane.”

But Kate and Gerry, parents of the missing girl, were outraged by Sharon Osbourne’s comments, a family friend told the Mirror . The source said Osbourne should have thought about the effect her comment could have had on Madeleine’s brother and sister, as well as the entire family as a whole.

The source also went as far as calling Sharon Osbourne ignorant of the “true facts,” adding that while it’s perfectly normal that she has her own opinion about the whole situation, she should “keep it to herself.”

Madeleine went missing in Portugal in May 2007, nearly a decade ago, just days before Maddie’s fourth birthday. She has never been found. On the night when she went missing, her parents were out at a restaurant nearby. So there is almost no doubt that Sharon Osbourne’s “very quick story” was about the McCann family.

During her CBS show, Sharon Osbourne and her panelists were discussing whether it’s the right decision for parents to leave a 10-month-old child sleeping alone at home for seven minutes. One panelist even wondered if it would be the right decision for parents to leave their baby sleeping while just 50 meters away.

But Sharon Osbourne called it “insane,” arguing that “so many things” can happen in just a second.

“If you leave a candle on and the curtain blows on it and it caught on fire.”

In fact, Sharon Osbourne said she went through all kinds of scenarios in her head, and she failed to find at least one reasonable excuse to leave a child alone. Just days after Maddie went missing, her dad admitted that they had “made a mistake” and said they would never leave kids alone again, according to the Daily Mail .

In fact, Sharon Osbourne was criticized by parents of other missing children as well. In particular, Donna Davidson, who witnessed her brother go missing in front of her eyes in 1976, said Osbourne’s comments are not helpful at all for the McCanns.

“People like this should stop passing judgment. I’ve met Kate a couple of times and we share their pain. They are victims.”

Nicki Durbin, who is a friend of the McCann family, has spent over a decade searching for his missing son, Luke. He reacted to Sharon Osbourne’s comments saying that, if she were in a similar situation, then “perhaps” her opinion about missing kids would be different.

Sharon Osbourne has a lot to deal with on her own right now, as it was recently reported that her husband Ozzy Osbourne had an affair with hairstylist Michelle Pugh in Los Angeles. In fact, Sharon and Ozzy were spotted hours before the controversial CBS show’s episode jumping into a car with their dog.
