Selena Gomez was served one helluva past week. Just one day after receiving a rapturous reception at a We Day conference, the pop princess was served with a subpoena to testify in a lawsuit in which a paparazzo claims her on-off beau Justin Bieber drop-kicked him.
Hot on the heels of that bombshell, Radar Online report Gomez is set to be subpoenaed to a deposition in another Bieber lawsuit filed by a Miami paparazzo.
As per TMZ , Gomez was pictured in Daisy Dukes and pumps and a blouse , when a process server bearing legal papers surprised the starlet as she picked up a soda at a Los Angeles convenience store on Thursday.
Citing a source. E! News later elaborated,”Selena has been ordered to appear on April 23, 2014, to be deposed in Los Angeles.”
Gomez has been summoned to a deposition over a civil assault and battery lawsuit filed last June by paparazzo Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran, over an incident he claims happened two years ago and was allegedly witnessed by Gomez.
The 21-year-old was out on a date with Bieber at The Commons shopping mall in Calabasas, California, when an alleged fight erupted between the paparazzo and the Canadian back in May 2012.
Now, Duran’s lawyers want to grill Selena over what she may have seen and heard that day, before and after it, conversations she may have had with Justin about paparazzi , whether or not she has ever seen him take controlled substances, their relationship and his deposition for another paparazzo-led lawsuit.
All of the above and more will be covered in Gomez’s deposition, a source told E!
.
The outlet adds Duran’s lawyers want to videotape Gomez’s deposition and Bieber is likely to be subpoenaed for deposition in the case in about two to three months.
Selena will also be subpoenaed to a deposition in the same lawsuit which led to Bieber losing his cool at his now infamous March 6 deposition, after he was probed about his relationship with the Latina by an attorney representing paparazzo Jeffrey Binion.
Binion claims he was assaulted by Bieber’s bodyguards on the singer’s orders after he was seen taking photos of the superstar outside a Miami recording studio last June.
Binion’s attorney, Mark DiCowden, who was reported to be “informally” talking to Gomez’s lawyers about testifying in a deposition, has now upped the ante.
“I will be serving Selena Gomez next week,” DiCowden told Radar on Friday.”She witnessed Justin Bieber attack a photographer back in 2012.”
As yet, there is no date when Gomez’s deposition would take place. DiCowden has also filed a motion asking a judge to order Bieber to a second deposition to answer previously aborted questions about Selena.
For Bieber and Gomez, the going is about to get very tough.
Hold on tight kids.
