Selena Gomez Attends Her Rare Beauty Lip Oil Collection Launch in a Classy Luxe Coat and Flares
Selena Gomez oozed style and looked like a diva as she arrived at her Rare Beauty Lip Oil Collection Event in NYC last week. Celebrating the launch of her line's new tinted lip oils with selected city influencers and fans, the Calm Down singer strutted into the event like a super boss lady on Wednesday, March 29. Elle reports that Gomez chose to wear an all-black ensemble to the NY launch party. She was photographed arriving at the event in a Mango coat, an Alexander Wang top, and Proenza Schouler flared pants. She paired the chic outfit with a Delvaux bag and Paris Texas slingback heels. Keeping her accessories to a minimum, Gomez wore a gorgeous pair of white stud earrings and tied back her hair in a long, sleek braid.
Gomez's look was styled by Kate Young, while makeup artist Hung Vanngo did her glam. Vanngo shared a reel that presented the Same Old Love singer in a before and after version of her look, noting that Gomez is seen wearing her line’s Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in Honesty. Speaking about her newly launched lip line, Gomez said, “It’s different from other lip oils because the transformative texture is unlike anything I have experienced in a lip oil,” she said. “When applied, it goes on like a jelly but transforms into a hydrating formula. It’s special! Most lip oils I have tried have a smaller shade range because it’s hard to develop, but it was really important to us to create a wide range that would be flattering for any skin tone.”
She further explained that the Rare Beauty product is made with moisturizing jojoba seed oil and antioxidant-rich sunflower seed oil. The color is designed to stay on all day without becoming what the worst of lip oils can be - sticky. The classic lip oil line comes in a wide range of shades, Gomez states, “The formula took two years to develop because it’s such a unique texture in a variety of shades—getting the right shades is always really important in our development process.”
The Only Murders in the Building actress also gave exclusive makeup tips on applying the lip oil range. “Pairing the lip oil with my waterproof lip liner creates serious staying power,” she said. “On its own, it’s long-wearing and leaves lips with a soft stain for all-day wear. Makeup is supposed to be fun, so there are no rules in selecting a shade.
