Even though the Seattle Seahawks made the playoffs last year, and one a post-season game I still view them as a team rebuilding.. They are changing the way they do things, and the clear goal through the NFL draft was to get nastier on the offensive line. They spent two high draft picks on that goal and now have a nice core of young, talented players along the O Line. Now the QB of the future has to be found. I don’t know if that can be found in free agency, and Matt Hasselback may have to be resigned to allow the team more time to find the next QB.
The rest of the skill positions seem to be pretty set, and the O line still has a few free agent concerns there, and those are mostly depth issues. They still need to work out who will be the RT, and who will play the other guard spot opposite John Moffitt. Those are things that can be worked out in training camp, if we ever get training camp started.
Along the defense there are free agency concerns in all three groups. However, with nine draft picks coming in the Seahawks are in much the same boat as the 49ers. They need training camp to open so they can start evaluating their talent. Of course they may have a pretty good idea of where they stand and what their strategy in free agency is going to be.
