Seattle Seahawks rumors address how worn out teammates are with Kam Chancellor’s holdout. The Seahawks rumors come from a report by Yahoo Sports on Monday, September 21, immediately following a 27-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Seahawks are now 0-2 on the season, and support of their teammate has started to fade as he continues to miss regular season games.
Fellow safety Earl Thomas made a statement following the loss to Adam Silver of NFL.com on Sunday night (September 20). It certainly wasn’t the typical show of support he had been giving Chancellor through most of the offseason, and he was described as “clearly perturbed” by the who situation.
“At this moment, he’s not battling with us, so I can’t really tell you what [his absence means]. It would be great if he comes back, but we’re gonna keep on truckin’… You never know what’s going on with someone in that situation. He’s in a whole other place right now. He’s handling his situation, [rather than] helping us. I try not to deal with that energy.”
The Seattle Seahawks rumors indicate that Kam Chancellor has lost more than $2.1 million during this holdout. That includes fines as well as missed game checks, and it still does not appear as though he is close to returning to the team. The Week 3 opponent for the Seahawks is the Chicago Bears, with that game taking place on Sunday, September 27 at 1:25 p.m. PT.
The Seahawks are favored to beat the Bears, even if Chancellor is not on the field. It’s an important game as well, because starting out the season 0-3 is a sure way to be watching the playoffs from home this year. The team already trails the 2-0 Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West, so getting the season back on track is of utmost importance in Week 3. Chancellor would certainly help in those efforts, but the holdout still doesn’t have an end date attached to it.
Earl Thomas wasn’t the only teammate to weigh in on Chancellor this week, as defensive end Cliff Avril also spoke about it.
Avril stated, “Do we miss Kam? We’d love to have Kam back. His presence, by itself, it puts a lot of fear in the receivers, and even the running backs. So of course we miss him. But the game has to go on without him.”
As the season heads into Week 3, Kam Chancellor and his agent are digging a huge hole with the organization. He is under contract for the next two years following this season, and fans just want him back on the field immediately. No announcement has been made about his status for the game against the Bears, but as it draws closer, the news will likely become negative. Seattle Seahawks rumors about his Week 3 status should be addressed by head coach Pete Carroll later in the week.
