The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge have received universal praise. Now, it appears that sales of both smartphones may match the critical acclaim. The stores that the Inquisitr checked with report incredible pre-orders and excitement.
The Verizon retail store in Sherman Oaks, California, reports more than 40 pre-orders, with half of them being for the Galaxy S6 Edge.
“There is more excitement over this version of the Galaxy S than any other Samsung phone,” a customer service representative says.
It gets even better at Best Buy in Sherman Oaks, California, which reports almost 80 pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 (almost 30 of those for the Galaxy S6 Edge). It helps that Best Buy is giving away a wireless charger with all the pre-orders. The Best Buy in Glendale, California, reports 53 pre-orders but insists that the number far outdoes the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S5.
You think only California is interested in the Galaxy S6? The T-Mobile store on State St. in Chicago reports almost 40 pre-orders, which is excellent for an individual carrier store. But the Best Buy that is only a couple miles away tells the Inquisitr they have a total of 68 pre-orders of the Galaxy S6 so far (they wouldn’t indicate how many of those are Galaxy S6 Edge units). They expect pre-orders to pass the 100 mark by the weekend.
If you haven’t pre-ordered the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge, you may have to wait in long lines. Engadget describes both phones as Samsung’s best in years.
“As if to silence the doubters, Samsung has not one, but two flagships on offer — the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge — and they’re surrounded by questions. Can they restore Samsung to its former glory? Has the company figured out how to build a truly interesting smartphone again? It’s too early to make a call on the former, but after a week of testing, the answer to the latter is a clear and definite yes.”
Even Joanna Stern of the Wall Street Journal claims that the iPhone has met its match.
“I am not afraid to say it: I love Samsung’s new phones, maybe even more than my own iPhone 6. Like a child who just found out that Santa isn’t real, I have spent the past week questioning everything I know.”
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge officially go on sale next Friday, April 10. However, the Inquisitr hears that like previous Samsung releases, the smartphones may be sold by some locations a couple days earlier. Are you going to purchase the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge?
