Ryan Braun Scheduled To Resume Hitting On Tuesday

Ryan Braun has been out of baseball activities since going on the disabled list for the past two weeks due to a right hand injury. On Saturday, the Brewers received good news for their star outfielder.

Braun is set to begin taking swings again this coming Tuesday. Brewers’ manager Ron Roenicke confirmed the good news and he went on to say that it was “encouraging.”

“Today was about as good as it’s been for him from one day to another, so that’s encouraging,” manager Ron Roenicke said Saturday,  according to the Journal Sentinal . “We’ll see where he is.”

The Brewers have struggled all season long and they’re currently on a five-game losing streak. Braun’s power could certainly help the team climb out of the cellar in the NL Central.

“Anytime you lose a No. 3 hitter with the quality he is, you can’t replace it,” Roenicke added. “What you do is you try to put some of your best guys there, like Carlos (Gomez) into that spot.”

Ryan Braun is considerably one of the best hitters in all of baseball, but his injury has left a hole in the Brewers’ lineup. Taking swings on Tuesday doesn’t seem like a big deal to most, but it’s surely a great sign for Brewers’ fans as he prepares for a return to the team.

The MLB season is inching closer to the All-Star break and the Brewers need to pick up the pace if they hope to get back in the race for the playoffs. As of now, Braun’s return doesn’t have an exact date behind it, but any sign of progress is better than nothing.

Do you think the Milwaukee Brewers can climb back into the postseason race with Ryan Braun continuing his recovery from a right hand injury?
