The Alaskan Bush People children are known for being rather eccentric. Matt Brown, in particular, has always been a bit over-the-top in his mannerisms and excitement. Recently, though, fans have noticed his extreme behavior has gone overboard, leading to questions about whether or not Matt has been abusing drugs or alcohol.

Radar Online shared in December that Matt Brown does have a history of drinking . Back in 2013, Matt was arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. According to the police report , Matt Brown hit a parked motorcycle in a Walmart parking lot. Assisting Officer Terry Allen stated Matt was “nervous, jumpy, and talked real fast.” When Officer Allen asked Matt why he was acting weird, Matt replied that he had “Attention Disorder Deficit.” During a breathalyzer test at the police department, Matt blew a 0.150, almost double the legal amount. Matt received a sentence of 18 months probation after three days in jail.
Now, according to an Alaskan local, Matt Brown has entered rehab. There are no confirmed reports, but the Alaskan local shared on a Facebook post that there is video footage from a business Matt walked into. The assumption is this “business” is a rehab facility. The Alaskan local has refused to share the video, stating they do not have permission to do so. If the rumor is true, how will Discovery spin Matt’s absence from the show in future episodes?

Alaskan Bush Peopl e has recently come under a lot of fire for being completely fake. The show claims the Brown family lives in the Bush and are completely reliant on the wilderness to survive. Alaskan Bush People also claims the Brown family has lived in the Bush for 30 years. The validity of this claim has been called into question recently, when Billy Brown and Josh “Bam” Brown got into legal trouble for lying about the time they lived in Alaska to claim an Alaskan tax dividend. In recent episodes of Alaskan Bush People , the family continued to claim that Billy and Bam received 30 days in jail, but they reportedly never stayed in jail and were only required to wear ankle monitors.
The Brown family is also accused of lying about the sudden family reunion between Billy Brown and his daughter from a previous marriage, Twila. The Inquisitr recently shared that the family claimed they hadn’t heard from Twila in 30 years, but this is not true. They have actually been in communication with her for quite some time, and there are photos of Twila and Matt together. It appears Discovery is doing whatever they can to try and build a story viewers want to watch, instead of telling the true story of the Alaskan Bush People .

Alaskan Bush People was also called out for using an actress to pose as Noah’s date on an episode this season. In Season 5, Episode 3, titled “Driving Miss Rainy,” Noah had a date with Karryna Kauffman. Karryna can be found on IMDB.com and has been an actress in three films, The Song of Birds & Bees , 16-Love , and Love in the Time of Flannel . It was not certain whether the actress was hired to air on this episode of Alaskan Bush People , or if she was just trying to get some air-time on the show. Either way, it was clear from the episode, Karryna had no interest in Noah and the entire thing seemed staged for ratings.
