The 2015 Mustang is having a coming out party, and fans could be impressed.
According to Auto Blog , the 2015 Mustang will be available in three stages – based on the V6 (RS), EcoBoost (RS1) and V8 (RS2) models – the 2015 Roush Mustangs all feature the venerable Ford tuner’s latest R7 aero kit complete with remodeled fascia, five-blade grille, gaping air dam with integrated driving lamps and splitter. Around back, there’s a one-piece deck spoiler and “race-inspired lower aero-valance.”
The new body pieces are said to improve aerodynamics. A set of upgraded Brembo brakes peek out from behind the new Roush 20-inch wheels with Cooper RS3 tires. Two types of adjustable coilover shocks are said to be available.
Stage 1 and Stage 2 models also get a quad-tip exhaust, and all versions are available with an enhanced suspension and 20-inch alloys. The cabin’s been upgraded as well, but Roush has not as of yet released actual engine upgrades, leaving the 3.7-liter V6 with its stock 300 horsepower, the 2.3-liter turbo-four with 310 hp and the 5.0-liter V8 with 435 hp. Hopefully, Jack Roush and company will have some horsepower-boosting changes to announce in the near future.
However, MSN Auto is reporting that Ford will be offering an additional RS3 model, which will attach a supercharger to the GT RS2 models, and an RS3 version that adds a supercharger to the GT’s 5.0-liter V-8. Supercharged versions could offer more than one power level with as much as 674 hp possible.
Roush is also expected to offer many of the parts al a carte for owners who want to modify their vehicles after initial purchase. More details of the Roush-modified 2015 Ford Mustang are expected to be revealed along with the car at the SEMA show in November.
Motor Trend reports that the Saleen is giving us few other details on the tuner car, saying final specs and features will be released closer to the car’s unveiling. We can guess based on the name that the car will be powered by the Mustang GT’s 5.0-liter V-8, which receives upgrades for 2015, though official output numbers have yet to be announced. Whatever the stock 2015 Mustang GT makes, expect the Saleen 302 to make more. The 5.0-liter V-8 in Saleen’s limited production George Follmer edition was tuned to 470 hp, up 50 hp from the outgoing GT model.
These change and more will be part of the 2015 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) showcase at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 4 to November 7. People who work in the automotive industry will get a sneak peek at the latest in the industry, from equipment to the newest from vehicle manufacturers. This event, unfotunately, is not open to the public.
