Ronda Rousey says Floyd Mayweather Jr. would be forced to “run away” from her in the octagon if they ever met for a UFC fight.
In a related report by The Inquisitr , Ronda Rousey outraged WWE fans when she suggested Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock was better than CM Punk, who actually has MMA training .
“I have to say The Rock [is my favorite]. I do. I love me some Rock. Sorry, Punk!”
Of course, after the way she seemed to enjoy the booing from UFC 170 it’s possible Rousey just doesn’t care . Now she’s apparently trying to anger the boxing world since her comments about Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is currently undefeated and a five-division world champion. Mayweather has won eight world titles and the lineal championship in three different weight classes, so Ronda’s comments are fairly insulting of his fighting prowess:
“I wouldn’t even stand up, I wouldn’t even be anywhere near him. I would just do like a little army crawl over there, and he would have to run away. I would just be skittering after him like the one dude in Bloodsport that was doing the whole monkey crawl fight system. I would do that. I would just bear crawl over there too low for him to hit me, and I’d tackle him down…. I spent a lot of time [on the ground], and I doubt that he does.”
She does have a point, though. Professional fighters who don’t know MMA may have trouble adjusting to the different combat tactics available to them in the octagan. Rousey also used her ground game to dispatch Sara McMann in under two minutes. But even if Ronda Rousey vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. could ever happen it seems unfair to the boxer since he just turned age 37 while she’s still in her prime. He also doesn’t have much of a weight advantage since they’re roughly about the same size.
Ironically, about a month ago Floyd Mayweather asked his Twitter fans to pick his next opponent for him . While he definitely meant for his fans to pick out a boxer, perhaps maybe boxing and UFC fans should demand he go after Ronda Rousey in a UFC fight?
