Actor Robert Downey Jr. is all over the news lately because Avengers: Age of Ultron is dropping soon, and he did just walk out of a big interview. Still, he can find time to be awesome and help out someone that never expected it. Such was the case of a young boy on Twitter who was having a “rough day.”
Kathy Ellis’ son, Aidan, was having a really bad day on Wednesday night, and she wasn’t quite sure how to cheer him up. She took a chance of hopping on Twitter and reaching out to Robert Downey Jr.
@RobertDowneyJr It would make my son Aidan’s day if you could re tweet “hi.” As you can see he has had a rough day. pic.twitter.com/eMuXlUhmVB

People tweet out to celebrities all the time. Sometimes they hear back from them, but most of the time, their tweets go unnoticed.
That wasn’t the case this time around, as the Age of Ultron actor took noticed to the plea of Aidan’s mother. Not only did he respond, but he was curious as to what made the young boy’s day so bad.
@RobertDowneyJr I was racing with my bro. I was slowing down and he pushed me into the house. Not on purpose. You are the best actor. Aid — kathy ellis (@trips034me) April 22, 2015
Robert Downey Jr. wasn’t done though. He had a piece of advice for his new-found friend and a courteous greeting in a way that only he could.
@RobertDowneyJr you made my day and my year. Thanks for talking to me.

That was the end of it, and it was an overly simple exchange, but one that never even needed to happen. Still, Robert Downey Jr. took a few minutes of his day just to check up on a fan who was having a bad day, and the internet took notice.
Immediately, others on Twitter started praising the actor for his kind words and calling him “awesome,” “amazing,” and “heartfelt.”
All of this happened on Wednesday evening, and it came after news broke of Robert Downey Jr. walking out of an interview, per the Blaze . That was when interviewer Krishnan Guru-Murthy veered from talking about Avengers: Age of Ultron and asked the actor about his past with his father and drug use.
Robert Downey Jr. has come a long way in his life and he does a lot of amazing things on screen, but it’s the smaller things that show how good a person he is. Tweeting out to a young boy who had a rough day is just one of them.
