Robert Cantor was gunned down and set ablaze in a murder sparked by jealousy six years ago. Tonight, intrigue and a twisted tale of two lovers set the scene for Dateline NBC. Robert Cantor was murdered by Sui Kam “Tony” Tung in his Teaneck, New Jersey, home after Tony Tung found out Cantor was having a sexual affair with his wife. When two elderly women died in the same manner, many believed a serial killer was on the loose. Ultimately, Sui Kam “Tony” Tung was only convicted of the murder of Robert Cantor.
Robert Cantor’s body was found burning at his home in Teaneck , New Jersey, in 2011. It was obvious to investigators this was a case of arson. An autopsy report revealed the victim received a gunshot wound to the back of the head before the fire. Robert’s death was classified as a homicide, according to the New York Post .
As New Jersey detectives investigated the case, they uncovered a sordid love affair. Software engineer Robert Cantor, who was married to another woman, had been having an affair with Sophie Meneut. Sophie’s husband, Tony Tung, had found out about the affair after using software programs to lift emails between the victim and his wife.
On at least one occasion, an enraged Tony Tung paid a visit to Robert Cantor’s home and asked to see the basement dungeon where Cantor and his wife had sex, the New York Daily News reported. Robert Cantor’s friends say they couldn’t understand why Robert would let Tung inside.

On Dateline NBC, investigators will show how Tony Tung managed to kill Robert Cantor that terrible day. For his crimes, Sui Kam “Tony” Tung received life in prison plus an additional 10 years, according to Dateline .
At trial, jurors heard how Robert Cantor’s then-wife received a strange and creepy email on Facebook, which revealed that her husband was having an affair with Sophie Meneut.

Months before Robert Cantor was shot and burned, two other victims were found dead in their homes. Dolores Alliotts, 69, was stabbed, and outspoken political activist Joan Davis, 74, was bludgeoned to death. Their houses were also burned.
