Rielle Hunter is best known for being the former mistress to ex-Senator John Edwards , whose trial regarding campaign funding wrapped up on Wednesday with one not guilty verdict, and a mistrial on the other five counts.
Hunter, following the trial, announced that the will be putting out a tell-all book about her affair with Edwards, according to People.
The book, titled What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me is supposedly a tell-all of the affair and subsequent birth of their child, Quinn, who is now four years old.
People reports that Glenn Yeffeth, publisher of BenBella Books, stated:
“We are delighted to publish Rielle Hunter’s memoir. A lot has been said. But no one has heard the truth of what really happened until now.”
Rielle Hunter previously gave a lengthy interview to GQ in 2010, which described her affair with Edwards, stating:
“I know he loves me. I have never had any doubt at all about that. We love each other very much. And that hasn’t changed, and I believe that will be till death do us part. The love doesn’t go away. It’s unconditional.”
The London Free Press notes that neither Edwards or Hunter testified at the trial, which lasted six weeks, although the jury was privy to other witnesses, including former campaign staff, who gave tawdry details into the couple’s affair and Edwards’ attempts to conceal it from his wife, Elizabeth, who was drying from breast cancer.
Elizabeth, who stood with John Edwards at a press conference where he admitted his affair, died of cancer in 2010.
The new book, which hits stands on June 26th, tells of how Edwards and Rielle met, and also details of how he fathered their four-year-old child Quinn, who was conceived when the ex-senator was still married.
Rumors of the affair circulated during Edwards’s bid for the Democratic nomination in 2008, which he ultimately lost to President Barack Obama.
