Ric Flair One Of Several Wrestling Greats To Return For ‘Old School RAW’

Two days removed from firing up the San Francisco 49ers before their wildcard win against Green Bay (perhaps a bit too much for Anthony Davis ), wrestling legend Ric Flair is headed back to the big stage with other WWE greats when this Monday’s RAW goes Old School.

It’s unclear who will be joining the Nature Boy in this edition of “Old School” RAW (Brad Maddox let Ric Flair’s appearance slip last week), but the promo clip gives us a glimpse of Flair, Diamond Dallas Page, the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase flanked by Irwin R. Schyster ( that’s old school), the Road Dogg and Billy Gunn in their New Age Outlaws gear, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Rikishi, Booker T, Mean Gene Okerlund, Bob Backlund, and Scotty Too Hotty.

Ric Flair is no-doubt the biggest star, that we know of , to be showing up this time around; The Undertaker was arguably the biggest name to return in 2013. It’s important to bear in mind that last year’s Old School RAW took place almost 2 months later in the year, so everyone’s favorite Dead Man resurfaced to hype his match with CM Punk at WrestleMania XXIX.

So what will Ric Flair be up to when he comes back home to the squared circle? His most recent forays back into the WWE Universe were all about his budding bromance with the Miz , to whom he’s even gifted his patented Figure Four leg lock. Given Flair’s penchant for speaking his mind, Ric will no-doubt fire a few salvos at current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Rany Orton, if for not other reason than Orton’s at the top and Flair has never had his sights set anywhere else.

It certainly wouldn’t be a shock to see The Shield set their sights on Ric Flair like they did in late 2012, but the hounds of justice had better beware; last time they did so, Ryback, Daniel Bryan and Kane came to Flair’s aid. Given the shifting alliances these days, it’s unlikely that the same rescue party would be there to help Ric out, but as the only superstar to be inducted twice into the WWE Hall of Fame, it’s safe to assume Ric Flair will have some back up. Our bets are on Big E Langston.
