Just when she tried to put last season’s drama behind her, Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson is facing more backlash from her co-stars. In the latest round of accusations, some of the ladies on the show are demanding that Gunvalson take a lie detector test to determine once and for all her involvement in Brooks Ayers’ cancer scam.
As fans will recall, Season 10 of RHOC focused the majority of its attention on the question of Ayers’ cancer. While Ayers failed to come clean about his cancer lies, Gunvalson stuck by his side for the majority of the season before switching sides at the very end. Gunvalson’s devotion to Ayers sparked criticism amongst her co-stars that she may have known all along that Ayers was lying about his battle with cancer.
Now, according to Radar Online , some of the cast members on the show, including Shannon Beador, Heather Dubrow, Meghan Edmonds, and Tamra Barney, want to get to the truth of Gunvalson’s role in the cancer scam.
“Shannon is not going to let Vicki live this down and she is also not going to let her back out of it,” a source told the outlet. “The two of them have been going at it and they have only taped together just a few times.”
In order to get to the bottom of the lies, Beador and the other ladies want Gunvalson to take a lie detector test. While this seems like a good way to get Gunvalson to admit to her role in the matter, the reality star is having none of it.
“Vicki said, ‘absolutely not,’” the source stated. “She was really insulted that they would even suggest that.”
Understandably, Vicki Gunvalson wants nothing more than for everyone to just drop the issue entirely. However, Beador and the rest of the women are not going to turn their backs on this one anytime soon. After all, Gunvalson will face some pretty harsh consequences if she had a large part in covering up Ayers’ lies last season.
In addition to battling her co-stars, Debra Messing recently brought up the topic of Gunvalson’s involvement in Ayers’ lies during an interview on Watch What Happens Live . According to Bravo , Messing revealed that Gunvalson knew that Ayers’ was lying all along.
“She totally knew,” Messing shared. “Vicki knew. She got me really really mad. She was so sanctimonious. When she compared herself to Jesus Christ, I was like, OK, I’m out.”
In response, Gunvalson took to Twitter and addressed Messing’s comments head on.
“Well @DebraMessing doesn’t know what she’s talking about,” she stated. “She didn’t witness what I did! I’m tired of repeating the same thing!”
Several fans answered Gunvalson back, who quickly came to her own defense and explained how she had no idea Ayers didn’t have cancer. Apparently, he exhibited all the signs of someone battling the disease.
Meanwhile, Reality Tea is reporting that Gunvalson has officially confirmed her return to the Real Housewives of Orange County’s new season. With most of the fellow cast members still upset about the drama that unfolded last season, Gunvalson’s time in front of the camera is expected to center on family members. This includes her daughter, Briana, who recently relocated to Orange County.
At the same time, Gunvalson will also be working towards making amends with her co-stars in the new season. Whether or not she’s successful in the process is yet to be seen, although her refusal to take a lie detector test is not a good start.
The new season of The Real Housewives of Orange County is expected to air sometime in spring 2016.
