The truce between Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kyle Richards and Kim Richards appears to be short-lived. Although the two sisters seemingly worked out their differences following the death of Kim’s ex-husband, Kyle failed to attend the funeral. Is Kim’s addiction behind their ongoing feud?
Kim’s former husband, Monty Brinson , passed away last month after a long battle with cancer. In the wake of the family death, Kyle reportedly made a truce with Kim, setting aside their issues for the sake of Kim’s mourning.
However, an inside source told Radar Online that Kyle’s husband, Mauricio Umansky was not invited to the memorial and funeral services. Kyle’s husband has been involved in a long-standing feud with Kyle’s family, and in response to Kim’s request Kyle decided not to attend the wedding.
“Paris Hilton and the entire family was there,” the source stated. “Everyone but Kyle. And none of Kyle’s kids were there either. Kyle also didn’t attend the funeral over the weekend. No one mentioned Kyle’s absence.”
According to Enstarz , Mauricio’s beef started when he decided to leave the Hilton family’s real estate business and start his own. Ever since then, the two families have been fighting with each other. In fact, their feuding even made its way to the current season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills .
In particular, their fighting really took off after Mauricio wasn’t invited to attend Nicky Hilton’s wedding over the summer. Ever since then, the two families have not been able to settle their differences and move on.
Meanwhile, Reality Tea is reporting that Kim was really shaken up following the death of her ex-husband. Although the two decided to end their marriage, they remained friends through the years, which made his passing particularly difficult for the reality star.
“It is Kim who is taking it the hardest,” an insider explained. “Monty knew what was happening. He was prepared.”
In regards to the funeral services, the insider added that the ceremony was very emotional. With so many things happening in Kim’s life as of late, her entire family is apparently worried about Kim’s current state of health.
“The wake was very sad and emotional. Everyone is just trying to be there for Kim and hope that she stays safe,” the source explained.
With Kim’s sobriety in mind, the source went on the explain how Kim has managed to remain sober despite Brinson’s passing. Even still, many of her family members are worried that Brinson’s death could send Kim back to her old ways. Is this one reason why Kyle Richards decided to skip out on the funeral?
“Kyle is supporting Kim throughout all of this,” the insider stated. “No matter how strained their relationship, Kim and Kyle are sisters, and family is more important than anything. Nothing else matters when a tragedy like this happens.”
Although neither Kim nor Kyle have officially addressed the rumors that their feud is back on, it is interesting that Kyle would have missed the funeral if she was completely in support of her sister. After all, if Kim really is in jeopardy of returning to her old ways then why wouldn’t her sister be there to support her?
While it isn’t clear if the sisters are once again at odds with each other, it does appear as though Kim is handling the situation well. “Kim seemed to be a peace with the situation. Of course she misses Monty, but she is coping with the loss in a very healthy way.”
