A father grieving over the loss of his daughter took to Reddit to see if any users could help photoshop a picture of his daughter removing her life support tubes. The response is both heartwarming and phenomenal. The Inquisitr previously reported on the heroic efforts of the photoshoppers , but more photos keep pouring in.
Reddit user, steffel07 , made the emotional request asking:
“Photoshop Request: My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children’s hospital. Since she was in the hospital her whole life we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?”
In no time at all, Reddit photoshopper jumped into action and began providing the grieving father beautiful retouched images of his daughter without her tubes. Some users went a step further and hand sketched the image. Photos are still pouring in days later for the grieving father.
Today Parents reached out to steffel07 on Reddit and found the user’s real name to be Nathen Steffel. Nathan reacted to media requests by saying he received so much more than just a photo from these complete strangers:
“I didn’t really want all the publicity, I just wanted a picture. What I received was a whole lot of love and support from complete strangers.”
Nathan’s personal Facebook page is filled with images of the doting father with his daughter, but all the images have his daughter hooked up to her IVs and tubes. See some of the photos of Nathan with his daughter here:
Now take a look at some of the absolutely beautiful images and sketches submitted by Reddit users to Steffel below:
Steffel was blown away by the love and time the other users gave to help recreate this image for him:
“This is really amazing. Everyone you have made my day. All I wanted was a nice picture. What I received was a lot of love and support from a bunch of strangers. Along with a lot of great photos, drawings and paintings. Thanks everyone!”
Nathan seems incredibly grateful for what the Reddit community did for him during his grieving process, and now has a number of photos he can cherish of his daughter without her tubes. Reddit has been known to bring out the best in people and occasionally inspires some highly emotional discussions. In fact, earlier this year Reddit asked a 92-year-old war veteran about his life, and the resulting discussion was a great read.
