In a move that has most of those in the know scratching their heads, former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards has rejected a plea deal in her public intoxication/assault case that would have kept her out of jail. Though representatives for Richards have said they were going to accept the deal, the district attorney’s office said the deal that was on the table has already been rejected.
Richards, who was a no-show in court Monday due to a foot injury, has been bouncing in and out of rehab, and will soon have a hearing on her second arrest this year for shoplifting $600 in merchandise from a Target in Van Nuys, California. According to the Inquisitr , Richards left her most recent rehab just after she had a visit from her family, saying that she is now sober.

People Magazine is reporting that the plea deal offered by the District Attorney’s office was rejected outright , according to representative Richard Santiago.
“There were conversations about a negotiated settlement being offered by our office, but the offer was rejected by the defense,” Santiago says. “They wanted community service instead of community labor,” Santiago says, adding that a pre-trial court date is set for September 14.
If found guilty to the charges, which include battery on a police officer, Kim Richards could be looking at jail time.

According to Perez Hilton , the plea deal Richards was offered included 52 AA meetings, 30 days of community labor, and three years of probation, which was considered a pretty good deal, considering she is facing other charges for shoplifting from Target.
The Inquisitr reported that the deal also had her banned from the Beverly Hills Hotel indefinitely. Still in negotiations is the idea of going on another reality show called Family Therapy on VH1. Richards is understandably eager for another reality show payday, but her children and sister Kyle Richards have allegedly said no way, as they prefer that Richards return to rehab and get sober for good.
