Rachael Mattice has been missing for more than a week, and now friends of the 24-year-old who disappeared from a remote New York campsite are turning to the community and even a big country music star for help.
Mattice went missing on June 22 after leaving her parents home in New York for a cabin in the Adirondack Mountains roughly 50 miles away. She arrived at the cabin but was not heard of since, and the woman’s parents have no idea where she could have gone.
With the search for Rachael Mattice yielding no leads so far, her friends are hoping that the woman’s favorite singer can help. They have reached out to country star Shania Twain, hoping that she might be able to help publicize the case and lead to some clues about Rachel’s whereabouts.
Cynthina Nellis, Racheal’s longtime friend, was the one who reached out to Twain online.
“You are Rachael’s favorite country artist. She absolutely adores you,” Nellis wrote. “Her parents used to call her Shania when she was little because she would sing your music all the time.”
“I’m reaching out to you in hopes that you can make one of Rachael’s dreams come true by sending a message out to her,” asked Nellis.
Family members said they have no idea how or why Rachael disappeared.
“It’s not her nature to just take off,” the woman’s mother, Wendy Mattice, told Fox News , adding that Rachael had no enemies and no reason to disappear.
Rachel Mattice had been living at the cabin while working as a home health care aide and was last in contact with her mother last Wednesday when arriving back to her temporary home.

“She said, ‘I’m at the bottom of the hill. Goodnight and I love you,’” Wendy Mattice told Fox News , noting that was the last time she heard from Racheal.
Rachael’s father eventually drove to the cabin in search of Rachael but found no sign of her.
“Dad came up Friday afternoon, he comes up every weekend, saw that her vehicle was there but didn’t see her, waited a couple hours then started getting concerned and called us and we’ve been on scene ever since,” noted Hamilton County Sheriff Karl Abrams via CBS 6 Albany .
Family and friends gathered this week to hold a candlelight vigil for Rachael Mattice, and others have put up fliers around the small town where she went missing, News 10 reported.

The notes had more details about Mattice’s disappearance, reporting that her car was found with the keys still in the ignition.
“Her car and camp door were found wide open. Her car was left on/ran out of gas. Her phone and purse were in the car. It is believed that she was abducted. She is not the type to just disappear. But police say they are still gathering clues about the disappearance and have no idea if Mattice was lost, left on her own, or was abducted.
“Right now we are treating this as a missing person,” Abrams said. “We don’t have a lot to go on, we’re contacting family, friends, through Facebook and media.”
Authorities noted that Mattice is 5-foot-3 with brown hair and blue eyes, weighing 125 pounds. She was last seen in Wells, New York, at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22.
