Rapper Psy has purchased a LA condo after his “Gangnam Style” hit checked mad cheddar for the viral star, and the exclusive property seems befitting of the year’s most watched YouTube personality worldwide.
News that Psy bought the LA condo was first reported in the Los Angeles Times , and the paper got the scoop not only on the rapper’s new digs, but the fancy-pants building in which the swank pad is located. The site explains:
“The Blair House condo features city views, high ceilings, a den, a balcony, two bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The contemporary complex offers a saltwater swimming pool, a tennis court, a gym, a doorman and concierge services.”
Psy bought the LA condo after becoming the first YouTube star to exceed a billion views , and MSNBC describes a luxe space within a well-regarded building befitting of an internet legend:
“The glassy and modern condo measures 2,776 square feet on one of the lower floors of the Blair, a luxury building constructed in 1989. Psy’s unit features large windows and modern fixtures.”
Although Psy, 34, and his wife managed to close on a fantastic new condo, the rapper’s fame has not been without controversy.
Late last year after the “Gangnam Style” frenzy had peaked, an older video of the star expressing anti-American sentiments emerged , for which the rapper apologized:
“The song I featured on in question from eight years ago — was part of a deeply emotional reaction to the war in Iraq and the killing of two Korean schoolgirls that was part of the overall antiwar sentiment shared by others around the world at that time.”
“While I’m grateful for the freedom to express one’s self, I’ve learned there are limits to what language is appropriate and I’m deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted. I will forever be sorry for any pain I have caused by those words.”
Psy snagged the LA condo in Westwood for a cool $1.249 million.
