For Prince William and Prince Harry, life as a member of the royal family requires the knowledge of matters not typically taught in school. Whether it’s wearing their royal attire or discussing gay rights, the two recently have had opportunities to demonstrate that when it comes to the art of diplomacy, they’ve been carefully educated and are also creating their own version.
So when Benedict Cumberbatch asked Prince William and Kate Middleton to support a gay-rights campaign, the prince responded cautiously, according to the Independent .
Cumberbatch’s request follows his role as World War II codebreaker Alan Turing in The Imitation Game . After suffering from prosecution for being gay, Turing finally received a posthumous pardon in 2013.

Consequently, Benedict had signed a petition seeking the same type of pardon for 49,000 other men also convicted under that law. The open letter has about 90,000 supporters.
But rather than respond directly to Cumberbatch’s request to back the campaign, a spokesperson for the royal family termed it a government affair and thus not an item on which the prince could comment.
And it’s not just Prince William who finds himself in a position where he must demonstrate the art of diplomacy and proper protocol. When Prince Harry was talking with runners who will participate in the London Marathon to raise money for charity, he was asked about venturing onto the course himself, reported Yahoo! UK .

The question arose when Harry was watching athletes train at Twickenham Stadium prior to the 26.2 mile marathon in April. He questioned one of the runners, Jane Fishwick, to learn about the physical impact of a marathon.
“It is a good cause but (doesn’t it hurt) your knees and your back?” asked Harry.
“Are you going to do it?” Jane promptly responded.
Harry admitted that he frequently was asked that question but didn’t seem enthusiastic about the prospect.
“Erm no. Everybody keeps asking me to.”

So Jane offered a solution during her conversation.
“I did suggest that he might like to run one and he said ‘I know, it is a little bit of a problem because me, obviously Prince William and Kate would all then come under fire to do it. I suggested then that maybe they might train George up to do it and perhaps they might be able to hand the mantle on. He said ‘Perhaps that might be a good idea.’”
And it’s not just Prince George who might be a future marathoner. As the Inquisitr reported, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is currently pregnant with her second child.
Little George joined his parents and Grandma Carole Middleton on a trip to the Caribbean where they celebrated Carole’s 60th birthday. It’s expected to be Kate’s last long trip before she gives birth in April.
