Match Preview
Tottenham Hotspur will host Hull City in the Premier League as they look to bounce back from the disappointing defeat against Manchester United on the weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side has been inconsistent this season as they find themselves in the fifth position in the league table. They have lost just two games so far, but six draws mean they have just 27 points, three points out of fourth place.
In their last game, Tottenham was deservedly beaten by Man United, who scored through Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The defeat means the Spurs lost ground in the top four race, although they are not far behind the fourth team, Man United.
On the other hand, Hull City drew at home against Crystal Palace in a thrilling game. Jake Livermore looked to have sealed the three points for the home side, but a late equalizer from Palace robbed the Tigers of a much-needed win.
Hull has not won their last two games, after being beaten by Middlesbrough the game before. They are currently in the relegation zone in the 18th place. So, the Tigers will be extra motivated to take something out of this game and improve their position in the standings.
Team News: Tottenham
Midfielder Mousa Dembele will be unavailable for Tottenham as he is out with a foot problem. The injury had forced him off in the defeat at the Old Trafford.
Erik Lamela and Vincent Janssen are also missing due to respective hip and ankle injuries. The Argentine player is likely to participate in the Spur’s upcoming matches, but this game is too soon for him.
Pochettino has a selection headache as Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou are pushing for starts. So, it remains to be seen who the team’s manager prefers in the attack.
