Premier League, Manchester City Vs. Watford: Preview, Prediction, Probable Lineups, And Betting Tips

Published on: December 12, 2016 at 11:04 AM

Looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats in Premier League, Manchester City will host Watford on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.

A week after losing to Chelsea on their home soil, Pep Guardiola’s team crumbled to yet another defeat, this time at the hands of Leicester City. The Etihad outfit was thrashed 4-1 by the defending Champions, which put a dent in their title hunt.

Newly promoted Watford has been in dazzling form this season as they are in the seventh position of the Premier League standings with 21 points.

Watford came from behind to win 3-2 against Everton on Saturday, and they are likely to give Manchester City a run for their money as well.

In the previous six matches between these teams, City won four, while the remaining two matches ended as a draw.

City’s talisman Sergio Aguero will once again miss a match as he is serving a four-match ban following his red card against Chelsea. Kelechi Iheanacho is likely to replace the Argentine in the center-forward role.

Fernandinho is also serving a three-match suspension as he was also sent off in that defeat to Chelsea.

The good news for Manchester City fans is that Nicolas Otamendi returns to the first team action after serving his one-match suspension. Captain Vincent Kompany is a long-term absentee for Man City due to his knee injury.
