As previously reported by The Inquisitr , a Pamela Anderson commercial was banned because the ad was considered sexually explicit .

The J/P Haitian Relief Fund is intended to help Haitians still suffering in the wake of the 2010 earthquake. Actor Sean Penn, who helped set up the fund, is friends with Pamela Anderson and she wanted to help raise money for a good cause.

The J/P Haitian Relief Organization will provide clean water, safe school structures, medical facilities, emergency rooms, reforestation, conservation studies, and general education. Pamela Anderson says, “It has been heartbreaking to witness the poverty among people in what should be a very rich country.”

But Pamela Anderson didn’t just talk the talk, she walked the walk. Shortly after the Haiti earthquake Pamela Anderson visited to help with local farms and food distribution. She remembers being “surrounded by dust and death.” Now she will make the walk again.

Literally, in this case.

Like many celebrities nowadays, Twitter was used to make the announcement of Pamela Anderson’s New York City Marathon run :

“I’m running the New York Marathon this year and raising funds for the J/P Haitian Relief Organisation.”

The New York City Marathon winds through the streets of five NYC boroughs for 26 miles on November 3. Pamela Anderson’s marathon run has her all excited and she’s trying to get others involved:

“I’m running the New York Marathon… (Can you believe it?). Together, I hope we can raise at least $500,000 and make a huge impact in this magical country… keep checking my page and Facebook and Twitter to find out about all sorts of contests I’ll be running from now until November – I will give updates on my training too.”
