New images from the set of Outlander’s second season offer a great look at Jamie ( Caitriona Balfe ) and Claire ( Sam Heughan ) in their elaborate French costumes. Fans who were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the actors as they made their way through Prague took to social media to share what they saw.
One fan posted multiple pics on Twitter that show Balfe and Heughan waving to people on the streets. Both actors are dressed in their new French garb, while Heughan is seen carrying a silver coin.
At the same time, another fan posted some images on Twitter of her posing with Heughan, Balfe, and Duncan Lacroix.
The images that have been surfacing online show that Jamie and Clairewill have a completely different look in the upcoming season. Although the first season featured the characters in more earthy tones and heavy wool, the new season will see the characters don fancier outfits as they enter the French court.
Speaking with E! Online , Ronald D. Moore discussed the new look and feel of season two of Outlander , which features Jamie and Claire moving from Scotland to France.
“It’s a great setting, and what was one of the most populated cities in the world at that time,” he explained. “French society, its Aristocracy, the colors are brighter. You’re talking about fine linens and silks, you’re talking about gilt chandeliers, you know, everything that your mind conjures up when you say Versailles or Paris of that era. Suddenly our characters who lived in a Scottish world for all of Season 1 are in that world, so it’s going to look and feel very different, which is exciting, you know.”
Meanwhile, with production for the new season currently in full swing, Moore took to Twitter to answer some questions from fans. When asked how filming was going, Moore told one fan that it was going “Really well. Show looks amazing, cast is superb, story working – very optimistic.”
At the same time, fans are still anxiously awaiting for news concerning a solid premiere date for season two. With that in mind, Moore revealed that fans should expect the series to premiere sometime in early 2016.
“Hasn’t been set officially,” Moore stated after one fan asked about the premiere date. “Look for March/April.”
While fans should be excited to learn that season 2 of Outlander will air in early spring, Moore also revealed that they are still working on casting new characters, including the part of Roger.
