‘Outlander’ Star Sam Heughan Is Posing Shirtless And Talking Testicles In A Charity Video All While Filming Season 2

Despite his enormously busy schedule, which includes filming for the second season of Outlander , Sam Heughan still found time to pose for a magazine shoot and work on a charity video. Lucky for fans, the former involved the Outlander star appearing shirtless on the cover of the Box Magazine , while the latter featured Heughan promoting cancer awareness.

According to Socialite Life , Heughan’s work on the magazine shoot was originally announced back in September, but fans are just now getting an opportunity to see the results. Although fans will have to purchase the magazine to see Heughan’s full shoot, the company is planning on printing two different versions of the cover.

Apparently, the magazine could not pick out their favorite shirtless pic of everyone’s favorite highlander, so they decided to include two different covers. With the Outlander star looking particularly good in the photos, fans are sure to be faced with the same dilemma when the magazine is officially released.

At the same time, as filming for Season 2 of Outlander continues strong, Heughan also managed to take some time away from his busy schedule to work on a video to promote the awareness for testicular cancer. According to the Daily Record , the animated video features a voice over from the Scottish actor, telling viewers to “get reintroduced to your buddies; checking them once a month.”

Sam Heughan’s part in the video campaign is intended to help raise awareness of testicular cancer, especially in the UK. In fact, over the past 35 years, the rate of this type of cancer in men has seen two times an increase in Scotland alone. It is hoped that the video will go a long way in encouraging men of different age groups to make sure they stay on top of checking themselves.

In speaking about Heughan’s part in the charity video, the head of the Cahonas Scotland, Ritchie Marshall, had a few kind words to share about the Outlander star. In particular, Marshall stated that he was very excited about Heughan’s willingness to be a part of the charity, especially considering Heughan’s busy schedule with the hit television series.

“We’re delighted to have Sam on board as an official Cahonas Scotland brand ambassador. Sam has been a huge support to the charity and to have him voice the video was a real coup,” Marshall told the Scotsman . “His schedule is super hectic, but he was passionate about being involved and gave his time up freely. We’re delighted with the results and just hope men check out the video and, more importantly, check their testicles.”

As it currently stands, testicular cancer is able to be cured in about 96 percent of cases as long as it is detected early and treated quickly. Because it is a curable disease, the efforts of the charitable organization that made the video are of a great importance, especially given the UK’s high rate of testicular cancer.

Meanwhile, apart from his work on the photo shoot and cancer charity video, Heughan is currently in the midst of production for the second season of the hit series Outlander . The new season of Outlander finds Jamie (Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) venturing into France to stop the Jacobite rebellion.

With the new season still months away from premiering on television, Heughan’s work outside the set is a welcome break as fans eagerly wait for the show to return. At the very least, the shirtless photos of Heughan should offer some relief from Outlander’s current break between seasons.

The second season of Outlander is set to air in the spring of 2016 on Starz.
