One Direction fans have unleashed a torrent of abuse towards GQ magazine , after the band gave their most revealing interview to date with the publication.
Each of the band’s members, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan , and Harry Styles adorned the cover of the magazine, and in their in depth discussions they remarked upon various tales of sex and debauchery.
However, since the magazine was made available, dedicated fans of the band have sent a hoard of abuse messages to GQ’s twitter account, many of which were filled with expletives.
Many fans believe that the band were mistreated by the publication, especially Harry Styles. The 19-year-old’s cover featured the tagline, “He’s up all night to get lucky,” and now fans believe he has been misrepresented.
@banginngniall_ wrote, “HARRYS COVER SAYS HE UP ALL NIGHT TO GET LUCKY. @BritishGQ YOURE MAKING HIM SOUND LIKE A W****. HES NOT A F****** W**** YOU STUPID *****.”
Whlst @francescanoel, scribed, “@Harry_Styles @BritishGQ IM F****** P***** AT HOW THEY PORTRAYED YOU, YOU ARE NOT A GOD DAMN MAN W****, YOU ARE A CUPCAKE. JESUS.”
Members of GQ’s staff were then threatened with bodily harm because of the article, with one fan even vowing to break a glass nail file in two, which they would then use to stab them in the eyes. Another insisted that GQ had riled the wrong fans, and that every loyal supporter of the band has now vowed to “f***” up GQ.
Other One Direction fans reacted positively to the band gracing the cover, however their messages were still rather peculiar. @WafaaStalks stated, “Holy. Crap. The boys on the cover of GQ magazine. Someone shoot me. Push me off a cliff. Stab me.”
Whilst @DIRTYWIFI, remarked, “the GQ pictures make me want to stab myself in the uterus!!”
Do you think One Direction’s fans have overreacted?
