Obamacare Hotline Operator Fired After Sean Hannity Call [Listen]

Fox News pundit Sean Hannity decided to call the Obamacare hotline on Monday afternoon to prove a point. What started as a pretty obvious stunt to make the hotline look like the abject failure the website seems to be ended up getting that employee fired.

Erling Davis lost her job the morning after Hannity’s call, during which he grilled her with questions about the Obamacare website. She said that she was escorted to a meeting with HR and told that she had to be fired because her employment required that no contact be made with media.

When Hannity found out about the role he played in her firing, he offered her a year’s tax-free salary of $26,000 and has pledged to help her find a new job. He brought her on his show this afternoon to talk about her firing and to extend the offer.

On his show, Davis, a mother of two, said that she was never told during training that media contact was forbidden. “I was just out here trying to help everybody,” she told Hannity.

“I’m very sorry that you had to go through that,” Hannity told her. “I don’t want you to have to pay a price just for taking our call. So I want to help you out here.”

You can listen to the full interview below, which includes Hannity’s pledge to Erling Davis. Let us know what you think. Did Sean Hannity do the right thing by offering Davis’ a year’s salary, or should he have not bothered to call the Obamacare hotline in the first place?
