Let the games begin! Tina Fey’s new comedy is sparking an exciting bidding war among a few huge networks. Fey’s untitled comedy has Fey joining Matt Hubbard and Robert Carlock, who she worked with to create the NBC critically acclaimed show 30 Rock.
While NBC has always been her home, Fey is reportedly branching out to other networks for her new series. The untitled comedy, is about an all-girls college, which is ready for males to enroll for the very first time. According to The Hollywood Reporter , the comedy currently has NBC, Fox, and other networks very interested in the show.
We’re betting that NBC has the upper hand given its history with Fey, but anything can happen. So far Hubbard is set to write the half hour show with Tina Fey, and Carlock. In addition, David Miner will be joining as executive producer with Carlock from Universal Television.
Currently Tina Fey has a four-year deal with Universal, which proved to be an amicable partnership when she was on NBC with 30 Rock. As it is NBC still has Fey in their hold. Just this week Tina Fey sold another comedy to the peacock network.
That show is said to take place in the workplace environment, and will center around a woman who connected with her estranged father, and finds a new home and life on Fire Island. 30 Rock writer/producer Colleen McGuinness will head up that project.
Earlier in the year Tina Fey spoke about saying goodbye to her show 30 Rock, telling HitFix : “We were so overwhelmed and so touched about how many things were written about the show. People really wanted to say goodbye to us. There was some really amazing fan videos and stuff. There was a piece about the portrayal of race on 30 Rock.”
Both shows are said to be a part of Fey’s production company, Little Stranger. So far it’s not yet known if Tina Fey will star on either show.
