New video of the Michael Brown shooting scene, just minutes after the unarmed 18-year-old was shot multiple times and killed by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, appears to support the accounts of other witnesses who have said that Brown was surrendering with his hands in the air when Wilson shot him.
The cell phone video, obtained and broadcast Wednesday by CNN , shows two construction workers who, though they do not want to be identified, have already given their witness statements to police and the FBI. The Inquisitr reported on the workers’ statements earlier this week.
“But in the video, the spontaneous reactions of the workers and other witnesses at the scene can be clearly seen. One of the men shouts at police while raising his hands and saying, “He had his f*****g hands in the air!” The same witness then repeats the raised-hands gesture and shouts, ‘Man, he was going like this!’”
The two construction workers just happened to be at a job in the area on August 9, when Brown was killed. They do not live in Ferguson and are not acquainted with the Brown family. The CNN report that includes the new video can be viewed below.
Also in the video, the unidentified person filming the scene with a cell phone camera can be clearly heard shouting, “He was no f*****g threat at all!”
The workers also filled in new details of the shooting, in an interview with CNN . One told the news network that when Michael Brown was shot, he staggered forward and looked “like a walking dead man.”
The witness, who said he was about 50 feet away when the shooting took place, said he saw Michael Brown’s “brains come out of his head” when shot. He also said that before Brown turned around with his hands up, he was running away and the officer was chasing him on foot. The officer fired at least one shot at Brown’s back, the witness said.
When Brown turned around with raised hands to surrender, “the cop didn’t say ‘Get on the ground.’ He just kept shooting,” the witness told CNN .
Neither witness says that he saw how the incident began, looking up only after hearing the first shot fired.
Otherwise, their accounts match closely the accounts of several other witnesses who say that Brown was surrendering with hands raised when he was shot.
The family of Michael Brown has called for the arrest of Officer Darren Wilson , but that has not happened yet.
Police on Wednesday did, however, arrest more than 20 protesters on Interstate 70 who were threatening to block a portion of that highway to highlight their demand that a special prosecutor be appointed to investigate the Michael Brown shooting case.
