Jack White is about to drop his first solo album, ‘Blunderbuss’, in April of this year. But first he’s given listeners and White Stripes fans the chance to get a taste of what’s to come with ‘Love Interruption’. The obvious thing to say is it sounds very White Stripesy, but then it would. Personally, I prefer Jack White in his more acoustic moments than in his heavier experiments.
Jack White produced ‘Blunderbuss’ at his very own Third Man Studio in Nashville. Talking about ‘Blunderbuss’ White stated that it’s “an album I couldn’t have released until now”. He also said:
“I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”
Jack White has certainly kept busy since The White Stripes split up a year ago, playing US live dates with The Raconteurs and The Greenhornes last September. He’s also worked with Insane Clown Posse, Tom Jones, Stephen Colbert and Black Milk which just shows that the range of Jack White’s musical interest far exceeded The White Stripes.
