70-year-old singer Neil Diamond is getting hitched, and the artist- who has been making hits for five decades- chose to announce the news via a poetic Twitter posting . Diamond broke the story himself to fans and followers, tweeting:
“Good news coming from sunny LA/and you’re the first I want to tell/Katie and I just got engaged/and I hope you wish us well.”
Diamond is referring to his 40-year-old manager Katie McNeil, who is just not quite half his age. The crooner and dad of four will be making his third trip to the altar. Diamond made his first go at married life in 1963, tying the knot with Jayne Posner. That union lasted six years, ending in 1969. The same year Diamond exchanged vows with Marcia Murphy, and that union lasted for twenty-six years. The pair split in 1995. Each marriage produced two of Diamond’s four kids.
McNeil produced the Diamond-centric documentary Neil Diamond: Hot August Night NYC, and the singer admits he’s smitten with his manager. In a follow-up tweet, he gushed to his 283,000 followers:

Fans both famous and not congratulated this singer on his upcoming nuptials, and fellow crooner Josh Groban tweeted:
