Over the past three months, K-drama fans got to enjoy the back-and-forth bickering of Ok Da Jung and Nam Jung Gi in the popular series Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi . It was a very interesting K-drama with plenty of plot twists that kept viewers on the edge of their seat.

However, what stood out about the K-drama was its direction. Unlike previous K-dramas that follow specific untold rules, Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi seemed to break a lot of them. The authority personalities were switched among the leads. Usually, the male lead would have the authoritative personality, but in this case, it was the female lead. The series also tackled many workplace injustices , especially gender inequality and sexual harassment.

Despite these monumental steps made for any K-drama, fans still wanted to see if something romantic would happen between Ok Da Jung and Nam Jung Gi, especially when there’s been no build-up to such a relationship even before the penultimate episode. Now fans know, as Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi not only wrapped up with high ratings but with a revelation on said romantic relationship.

Before diving into the details of the romance revelation possibly realized in the final episode, the viewership ratings are numbers that do not lie. Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi was a successful K-drama. According to the TNS Media Korea and AGB Nielsen television ratings companies, the penultimate episode had an average of 3.2 percent for the former and 3.4 percent for the latter. As the finale, viewership rating stayed the same for the TNS Media Korea saw a little bit of a drop to 2.8 percent while AGB Nielsen stayed the same. Take note that on free stations like the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) or the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), such ratings are extremely bad. But for JTBC, a pay channel, any rating over 2 percent is really good.

Now, on to the juicy romantic part. Prior to the penultimate episode and finale, many fans of Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi wondered if the romance part of the romcom would actually happen. True there were romance side stories, especially the love triangle between Nam Bong Gi (Chansung of 2PM), Park Hyun Woo (Kwon Hyun Sang), and Jang Mi Ri (Hwang Bo Ra), the Nam Patriarch Nam Yong Gap (Im Ha Ryong) and the mother of the residents of apartment 802, and in a comedic direction, Nam Woo Joo (Choi Hyun Joon) and Ok Da Jung. Yet, everyone wanted to see Ok Da Jung, played by Kim Yo Won, and Nam Bong Gi, played by Yoon Sang Hyun, end up together.

Instead of doing the traditional courtship of circumstances, the relationship between Nam Jung Gi and Ok Da Jung does come to fruition but through the fact they work well together in the workplace. Not only that, their contrasting personalities actually even them out as shown through the improvement of their work. This, in turn, also shows their compatibility. This is another example of Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi breaking the mold for K-dramas because it concentrated more on the process that caused the main characters to end up together. The actual relationship only came to the forefront in the final episode.

Ultimately, Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi will go down as one of the more entertaining K-dramas to watch for the 2016 Korean drama season. It will not hold a candle to powerhouse dramas like Descendants of the Sun or even Reply 1988 , but it will be up there as worth watching.

Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi is officially concluded and can only be watched in its entirety, for free but with ads, on certain streaming sites. Pending region, one can watch all 16 episodes on both DramaFever and Viki .
