It may be long in coming, but Josh Hutcherson is finally ready to admit he is in a relationship. The star recently revealed that he is currently dating Claudia Traisac, his co-star in the upcoming film Escobar: Paradise Lost .
“It’s pretty good,” Hutcherson stated during the movie’s premiere, adding “Distance is hard, but we make it work.” For her part, Traisac stated that her relationship with Hutcherson has been going great so far. “I’m really happy,” she stated. “It’s really great.”
According to E! Online , the pair met during the production of the film Escobar: Paradise Lost . Hutcherson plays a Canadian surfer who falls in love with his dream girl, played by Traisac, during a visit to Columbia. The only hitch in his plans to get with his dream girl is that she is related to the infamous drug kingpin, Pablo Escobar, played by Benicio Del Toro.
Although coming out publicly about the relationship is new territory for Hutcherson, his role in the upcoming movie also placed him outside of his comfort zone. The movie is a romantic action thriller that features some intense scenes for Hutcherson, as he fends for his life against Escobar and his cartel gang.
In fact, one scene has Josh Hutcherson dual wielding a pair of pistols and shooting back at the cartel. “That was awesome,” the Hunger Games star stated in regards to the action scene. “I felt so bada**. It was really cool.”
Apart from the cooler action scenes, Hutcherson was also forced to do a bit of shouting in the film, which is definitely outside of his comfort zone. “It’s intense. I don’t yell at people. I’m not a yeller. I’m very much a pacifist,” he revealed. “For me to be yelling is very uncharted territory.”
Meanwhile, Hutcherson and Traisac appeared for the first time together as a couple during the premiere of the film, according to the Daily Mail . The pair posed together on the red carpet, with Traisac wearing a white dress and Hutcherson donning a black suit and tie, complete with messy hair. Other cast members of the movie were also present, including Laura Lodono Claudia, Benicio Del Toro, and Carlos Bardem.
Escobar: Paradise Lost is directed by Andrea Di Stefano. Stefano is well known for his work on the hit movie Life of Pi .
