Six years after the end of Nickelodeon’s “Drake & Josh,” Miranda Cosgrove reunited with her former co-stars Drake Bell and Josh Peck at a party last Thursday. The on-screen siblings also reunited with the show’s creator, Dan Schneider.
The event was an album release party for Drake Bell’s third studio album, Ready Steady Go!, held at Mixology at the Grove in Los Angeles.
“Had such a blast tonight! REUNION!! #readysteadygoapril22,” Drake tweeted about the party, with a picture of the old cast.
“Making this record was so much fun and I’m at a point in my life where, yeah, I got this bump in the road, but it’s happening at a time where I’m getting to do everything I’ve dreamed of. So the bright side of life is pretty bright right now.” Drake says.
The ‘bump in the road’ that Drake is referring to is related to the incident in February 2014, where Drake filed for bankruptcy protection in California. Drake claimed to be nearly $600 thousand dollars in the red, much of which is owed to the IRS in back taxes.
In the filing, the star claimed that his house was worth $1.575 million, but he owned $1.6 million on the mortgage. He reported his monthly income as only $2800 and his monthly expenses at $18,771. Drake also stated that his earnings in 2012 and 2013 were $408,000, and $14,000 respectively.
Drake had also made waves recently by openly criticizing Justin Bieber and calling him a talentless singer on Twitter and saying the singer is sending a bad message to fans.
“Artists like Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga have more sway over popular minds than a politician. They could get on a pedestal and say, ‘This is how you should treat people,’ but instead going around telling kids that as long as you have enough money and swag, you can do whatever you want.” He says in a recent interview with Buzzfeed . “I just think that’s a gross, awful, terrible message.”
Justin Bieber gave no comment regarding the interview. Instead, he took the battle off the net and into the real world: by crashing Drake Bell’s album release party.
Justin pulled up to the party venue and rolled down his window, causing the crowd of onlookers to lose their minds when they caught sight of him. He posted a video of the incident on Instagram, with the caption “so nice seeing my fans at the grove tonight.”
According to TMZ, Bieber later posted, then deleted, another Instagram photo of Bell looking down at Bieber and his fans with the caption, “Why is @justinbieber sprinter van getting more attention than my album release party?”
Before long, Beliebers took twitter by storm and the hashtag #DrakeBellFlopParty trended worldwide on Twitter on Friday.
Beliebers’ have an extreme dislike of Bell due to Bell’s activity in the campaign to deport Justin Bieber back to Canada. This petition was created after the pop singer was arrested in Miami, Fla., for drag racing with friends. Nearly 300,000 people signed the petition, but three months after the petition was filed, the Obama administration responded by saying “No comment.”
Bell later responded to Bieber’s attacks by tweeting he was grateful that Justin Bieber came to his party but was sad that they did not let Justin Bieber in.
The album Ready Steady Go! is set to come out on April 22.
