4J Studios previously hinted that it was working on the Minecraft TU21 update for PlayStation and Xbox consoles. The developer snuck it out Tuesday and it’s aimed solely at fixing some of the leftover bugs from the TU20 update to the console version of the open-world sandbox game.
The TU21 update for Minecraft was released to the PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 on Tuesday. That’s worth noting solely because the majority of the past releases have all been staggered across the different platforms. This is one of those rare occasions where everyone received a Minecraft update at the same time.
The developer first announced via Twitter that all Xbox consoles are receiving the Minecraft TU21 update.
An update is rolling out now for Xbox platforms. Change lists are – Xbox 360 – http://t.co/mkfrODDkAY Xbox One – http://t.co/khG7OvbOsB

Then immediately followed with a Tweet for the PlayStation consoles.
An update is rolling out now for Sony platforms. PS3 – http://t.co/8fcasuueDq PS4 – http://t.co/OfPzQPJx9w PSVita – http://t.co/nXMp9MwCDG — 4J Studios (@4JStudios) February 10, 2015
The simultaneous release is likely due to the small amount of fixes being deployed with TU21. There are only nine issues addressed across the PlayStation and Xbox home consoles, with the PS Vita possessing ten.
Still, some of these fixes are notable such as allowing players to have more minecarts running in their world and horses will stop despawning inside fences. 4J Studios also applied “Redstone fixes,” but don’t go into any specificity as to what exactly was fixed.
General Fixes
- More Redstone fixes.
- Increased minecart limit.
- Stopped tamed horses despawning when they are in a fenced-off area.
- Crafting a map now produces an Empty Map.
- Fixed a crash with a Noteblock.
- Fixed an issue with village generation.
- Fixed an issue with Witch Huts allowing other mobs to spawn in them after a reload.
- Fixed an issue where Blaze Spawners and Chests don’t appear in the Nether after a Nether Reset.
- Fixed a crash with Minecarts travelling through Nether Portals.
PS Vita Specific Fix
- Fixed a problem causing clouds to look 2D
That wasn’t the only Minecraft console related release for Tuesday, as a new skin pack was released for both Xbox consoles. Disney Channel’s Star Wars Rebels joins the Star Wars Classic Skin Pack that was released last December. It’s available to purchase for $2.99 and comes with 23 skins.
