Michael Brown’s toxicology report allegedly indicates that the teen fatally shot by Ferguson police office Darren Wilson had marijuana in his system. A Washington Post report citing an individual “familiar with the county’s investigation” said local medical examiner Mary Case found the 18-year-old had recently been smoking pot.
The St. Louis County medical examiner’s Michael Brown autopsy report was presented to the prosecutor’s office on Friday but has not yet been made public. U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has ordered a federal autopsy of the Ferguson teenager’s body – to date, three autopsies will be completed. As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Dr. Michael Baden discussed his findings at a press conference held by Brown’s family earlier today. Baden could not determine if the Ferguson teenager had been charging Darren Wilson in a “bum rush” as an alleged friend of the officer claims, or standing still with his hands up in a surrender position.
Dr. Michael Baden did say that in his more than two decades of working high-profile and controversial homicide cases, this is the only time that a United States President has inserted himself into the investigation with the exception of the Charles Manson murders. President Obama’s interest and comments in the Michael Brown murder while not uttering a word about Marine Andrew Tahmooressi jailed in Mexico has prompted angry comments from some political activists and social media posters.
The Washington Post report went on to state that some Fergsuon protesters want officer Darren Wilson to also undergo a drug test because they anticipate the marijuana levels present in Michael Brown will be used to denigrate the unarmed black man.
Forensic pathologist Shawn Parcells also appeared at the Michael Brown press conference with Dr. Michael Baden earlier today. Parcells confirmed Baden’s findings that the Ferguson teenager was shot at least six times from the front and not at point blank range. Brown was shot twice in the head and four times in the right arm. The top of the head shot was the fatal blow, the shot through the eye or ear area would likely not have been fatal, the men stated.
Missouri Governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency in the St. Louis suburb after the Ferguson riots prompted more violence and looting over the weekend.
